The game features original content, ground-breaking innovations in gameplay and unique systems for magic, combat, crafting, and character advancement.

Immortal Destiny™ is in the early stages of development by Neogence Studios (www.neogence.com), an independent developer of evolutionary MMORPGs for the global market. Neogence is dedicated to creating unique content, innovative gameplay, and immersive virtual worlds.

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game

Neogence Studios, LLC (www.neogence.com)

4. How often can we expect announcements and updates to the site?

Regular announcements and updates should start occurring in the late Fall of 2007, although we will likely have some holiday news and announcements in December.

5. When will Immortal Destiny™ be released?

When it is ready, it will be released.

6. Do you plan on having expansions?

Yes. There will also be regular updates. The first release of Immortal Destiny™ is “The Edge of Empyrean”.

7. What graphics engine is Immortal Destiny using? Proprietary or licensed?

The engine is based on the Monumental Games Technology Suite (www.monumentalgames.com) combined with our own proprietary technologies.

Story

1. Does Immortal Destiny™ have a storyline?

Yes. We have a very rich and detailed story and setting for Immortal Destiny™.

2. Is there any lore for me to read?

There will be a lot released during the development of the title. Very little is available right now, but we will release lore and other content on regular basis, beginning in the spring.

World

1. Does the world have a name?

Siran. It means “beautiful”.

2. What about weather effects and day/night cycles?

Yes, there will be a variety of weather effects (and not just for looks) as well as defined day and night cycles. There are also seasons. Solar, Lunar, and Tidal cycles will be an influence on various areas of the game. There are two moons.

3. How can I travel long distances other than by foot?

You can walk, run, jump, crawl, climb, scale, limp, ride, fly, swim, sail, drive, teleport, summon, or just hitchhike.

Gameplay

1. How many player character races will the game offer?

There are no races. Characters are instead defined by the culture, customs, and traditions of their starting city or region.

2. Is the game class or skill-based, or both?

Primarily skill based.

3. How many character classes?

There are no character classes per se. There are archetypes, specializations, and professions.

4. What are archetypes?

Every character starts as one of three archetypes: Warrior, Priest, or Mage. While each has some benefits, there are no restrictions on what specializations, professions, skills, magic, or items that an archetype can use.

Archetypes are meant as a basic guideline, not as a restrictive template or traditional class.

5. What are specializations?

As characters grow in power, they may optionally choose ANY two specializations to grant their characters some special abilities and further customize the character. Once chosen, specializations are permanent.

6. What special abilities?

Each specialization has at least two unique abilities that are only available to those that have chosen that specialization.

7. What are professions?

Any character can learn and use any skill. However, there are groups of skills that are considered professions.

When a character is proficient in all of the skills of a particular group, they can be considered to be a member of that profession, which may grant access to certain quests and guilds.

Taking on a profession is optional and is mostly there to recognize the character’s work in mastering particular skills. Characters may study multiple professions.

8. How many levels are there?

No levels. Character advancement is primarily judged by skills and the amount of raw power they control.

9. How many skills and spells will Immortal Destiny™ have?

There will be a huge number of skills available to learn, and a vast number of spells. Many spells will be crafted by players.

10. How do I get new skills and spells?

New skills must be learned from quests, NPCs, or other player characters. New spells must be acquired or crafted before they can be used, and can be found as loot from opponents, quest rewards, purchased from shops, or received from other players.

11. How do skills advance in level?

There are multiple ways to advance skills. Repetition of a skill only has a minor effect on advancement. The law of “diminishing returns” applies, and our designers don’t like gameplay based on repetitive grind.

12. Do you have skill caps?

There are soft and hard skill caps. When a skill reaches a soft cap, they must learn from a NPC or other player character to advance beyond the soft cap.

13. Can characters learn any spell or skill?

That is correct. Some skills or spells may have prerequisites (usually another skill), but characters have the potential to learn and use any skill or spell with enough time and effort.

14. Can I cast spells while wearing armor?

Yes, but there may be some disadvantages, side effects, or problems that may result from casting while wearing armor.

Magic

Combat

1. Can you fight in cities?

Yes! Although there may be consequences depending on the city and the local laws. Player vs. Player combat (PvP) may occur anywhere. Players can also place bounties on each other, and pursue other means of revenge against those that attack them unwarranted. Griefers will not survive very long.

2. Can I advance in experience and skill without ever participating in combat?

Yes. There are multiple ways to advance, and only some of them rely on combat.

3. Can I loot the body of my enemy after I defeat him in combat?

Yes, absolutely! Be careful though…mobs can also loot bodies, or carry them off.

4. How does combat work?

Combat in Immortal Destiny™ is unique. Skill, tactics, and strategy are all necessary to emerge victorious from a fight. Casual players will find the system simple and easy to use, while more dedicated hardcore players will find a level of depth and sophistication not seen in other games. Combat will rarely be boring or repetitive.

Social

1. What type of in-game social structures will there be?

There is a variety of in-game social structures and organizations…Great Houses, Lesser Houses, Guilds, Clans, Gangs, Military, Government, etc. There are very few, if any NPC leaders. Most city and town governments will be run by player characters.

2. What are Great Houses?

There are 12 Great Houses in Immortal Destiny™. All characters belong to one of these noble houses. Each has its own type of government, visual style, unique history, religious beliefs, and culture.

3. What are Minor Houses?

Characters with high enough social standing and the requisite skills can start a Minor House under the umbrella of a Great House. There are many advantages to being in a Minor House, and this is our equivalent to large “guilds” and “clans” in other games. Minor Houses are just one of several different types of social organizations that a character can choose to belong to.

4. What are Guilds?

Guilds are, by definition, a professional organization of people based on a trade or a skill. Guilds in Immortal Destiny™ are just that. Guilds are one of several different types of social organizations that a character can choose to belong to.

5. What are Clans?

Clans are familial or tribal in nature with common blood, relatives, and ancestors as the defining elements. Clans are just one of several different types of social organizations that a character can choose to belong to.

6. What are Gangs?

Gangs are groups of players banding together on a regular basis, and similar to small guilds in other games. Gangs are just one of several different types of social organizations that a character can choose to belong to. Gangs in Immortal Destiny™ are similar to small guilds and clans in other games.

7. Will there be tools to help manage a guild?

Yes, there are powerful and robust tools for the management and administration of all social organizations in Immortal Destiny

8. Will players be able to engage in wars?

Yes, any organization may declare war or blood feud against another organization in game. Gangs, Clans, and Houses (Major and Minor) are frequently at odds and in conflict with each other. Diplomacy, alliances, treaties, and politics are a key feature of Immortal Destiny

9. Do I have to join a Minor House, Guild, Clan, or Gang?

No, this is entirely optional, although there is power and safety in numbers.

Crafting and Economy

1. Will items decay or break?

Yes. Most items either decay over time or degrade based on usage. Some rare item types will last a very long time.

2. Will there be in-game item and money sinks?

Yes. The economy in game is designed to be robust and very dynamic, as well as heavily influenced by players. Item and money sinks are necessary to avoid inflation. However, players can still amass great fortunes and wealth.

3. Will players be able to custom color their armor?

Yes. Customization is a key feature in Immortal Destiny

4. How will crafting affect the economy?

Crafting is one of the cornerstones of the economy.

5. Will Crafters be able to mark the items they craft?

Yes.

6. Can crafted items be modified further?

Yes, most items, including crafted ones, can be further enhanced by characters with the appropriate skills and materials.
